Back before Gingerbread was released, there were rumors that it would require a 1GHz processor, 3.5-inch or bigger screen, and a few other high-end features. Not long after the rumors came out, though, they were debunked by Android team member Dan Morrill. Just a couple of days ago, we heard a similar rumor about Honeycomb requiring a dual-core processor, and now that the OS is all nice and official, Dan Morrill has come along to debunk that rumor, too. Morrill just tweeted that there is "no hard processor requirement" for Android 3.0, and now Galaxy Tab owners everywhere can breath a sigh of relief.
We were a little skeptical of the rumors about Honeycomb hardware requirements, just like when the Gingerbread rumors flared up, and it's great to see them shot down by a Google employee. Sure, Google may not have never really embraced the Galaxy Tab with open arms, but it's hard to believe that they'd leave all of the device's owners with an inferior version of the OS just because of its processor. The bad news here, though, is that now we have another device to pester Samsung to update. When do you think we'll see the Tab get updated?
