Palm Pre 2 available now: unlocked, direct from HP

Rejoice, webOS fans, because HP surprised us all this morning with the gift of new(ish) hardware.  The Palm Pre 2 is now available in an unlocked GSM flavor directly from HP's website for only $449.99 and will ship to you in 24 hours.  If you're on the fence and need a refresher, specs for the Pre 2 include a 1GHz processor, 3.1-inch 320x480 display, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, 16GB of storage, and webOS 2.0 with Stacks, Just Type, and all of the other goodies that the new OS brings.

I know, I know, the Pre 2 isn't quite the new Palm/HP hardware that we've all been clamoring for, but its updated specs and new version of webOS should keep us all content for now.  Surprisingly, we still haven't heard any news as to when we can expect Verizon's version of the Pre 2 to arrive, at least not from Verizon themselves.  A recent leak showed that the handset would be coming to Big Red some time in Q4, so we've only got another month and a half, tops, to wait.  How many of you are going to pick up a Pre 2?  If you decide to buy an unlocked model, let us know!
