Rumor: Dell Opus One to be the follow-up to the Streak, features dual-core 1.2GHz chip

The Dell Streak has never really seemed like a runaway success ever since it was released earlier this year (although sales may increase now that it's at Best Buy), but that hasn't stopped Dell from creating a sequel to their 5-inch tablet.  According to a leaked presentation slide, Dell is planning to launch a follow-up to the Streak, which currently sports the codename "Opus One," in May 2011.  The Opus One will reportedly retain the 5-inch screen size of its predecessor but will have a resolution of 1280x800.  Running the show will be a dual-core, 1.2GHz processor that may end up being a second generation Snapdragon.

While we're not completely sure how well the Streak has been selling, I have a feeling that the fact that AT&T hasn't been advertising the Streak in its stores hurt its potential.  If a carrier picks up and actually tries to sell the Opus One, I'm sure that it would go over well with customers, especially if it can make phone calls like the Streak.  Considering that tablets are already becoming huge and should be much bigger by May of next year, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a carrier that didn't actively market the Opus One to its customers.
