You probably all remember the Froyo update for the Galaxy S that started rolling out last Friday, right? Well, Samsung has apparently pull those updates due to less-than-fascinating results. They have sent out a press release that the update will be available in early November for the UK version of the Galaxy S (I9000), and that "all operator versions of the software to be fully tested and downloadable by the end of November." This, in all likelihood, means that by the end of November, no matter whether you have an Epic 4G, Captivate, Fascinate, Vibrant, or the original I9000, you should all be running the much-hyped Android 2.2 on your Samsung device.
Just like last time, the update will be sent out via Samsung's Kies software, which still isn't Mac friendly to my knowledge, but the press release does mention a Kies upgrade has been issued. One on a lighter note, if you need help updating your device through Kies, Samsung will be publishing video step-by-step guides to lead you through the epic process. - Improved browser performance: enhances browsing, navigation and the 'pinch and zoom' feature
- Enhanced user interface adding vivid colours and features to the android menu structure
