HTC is known for their Sense UI, which has been used on several Windows Mobile and Android handsets. Microsoft won't be allowing any sort of Sense-like UI skin on Windows Phone 7, so what's HTC to do? Add a Sense Hub! A video leaked about a month ago showing off some of the Sense Hub, but now that WP7 and its handsets are all nice and official, we finally get to see what the Sense Hub looks like running on actual hardware. As you can see in the video, transitioning between apps in the Hub causes info and graphics to fly by momentarily, ultimately bringing the user to the selected item. There are also sections dedicated to games, apps, and featured programs inside of the Hub.
This new Sense experience looks like a fun addition to Windows Phone 7, and I'm glad that HTC has managed to add their own touch to Microsoft's new OS without violating their whole "no skinning" policy. Some users may complain that the transitions, while pretty, take too long to bring the user to his or her ultimate destination. The whole process only takes a few seconds, though, and is probably the same amount of time it would take to open up any weather app or something similar.
