Following a story that circulated yesterday regarding Sprint receiving the Sanyo Zio and Samsung Transform, a Sprint tipster reached out to us with some updated information. According to the document they sent over, both devices are available for ordering and will be available through select channels beginning on October 10th.
While it's anyone's guess what the Samsung Transform is, I spent some time with the Zio at CTIA in March, and the unresponsive touchscreen and antequated operating system (Android 1.6) really hindered what would have otherwise been a decent mid-range device. That said, my initial hands-on were in March, so it's entirely possible that the kinks have been worked out. What's more, given Sprint's history of timely Android OS updates, I have to wonder if this device will launch with Android 2.1. At any rate, we'll find out soon - October 10th is right around the corner.
