T-Mobile: Samsung Vibrant GPS fix is coming in September

Samsung's Vibrant, along with its brother the Captivate, has had problems with its GPS module since the device launched in July.  Users have had to suffer with the problem for some time now, but T-Mobile has now sent a memo out to it's employees saying that Samsung will make the fix for the GPS woes available in September.  T-Mobile's reps are told not to give the hard September date to customers, though, and are instead supposed to tell customers that the update will arrive in "the next few weeks," just in case the update doesn't quite make it in September.

It's definitely disappointing that it's taken Samsung this long to come up with an update, especially considering that the GPS problems in its handsets is a pretty substantial issue.  I suppose it's good to know that they're working on a fix and that they're communicating with T-Mobile.  Strangely, we still haven't heard anything from AT&T about its own Galaxy S device, the Captivate, but hopefully they'll have something in the near future, as well.  How many of you Galaxy S owners out there are experiencing problems with your device's GPS?
