BlackBerry 9670 specs leak, Bold 9700 successor unveiled

Research In Motion recently launched the BlackBerry Torch, its newest 'Berry with a completely new design.  If you prefer a more traditional BlackBerry form factor, however, we've got some info on two upcoming handsets that should tickle your fancy.  First up is an overview of the 9670 Oxford, RIM's new clamshell QWERTY device.  Launching on Sprint and probably Verizon, the 9670 will feature a full QWERTY keyboard, 240x320 external display, 360x400 internal display, 5 megapixel camera, and an optical trackpad.  Still no word on when we'll actually see the 9670 launch, but at least we've got all of these specs to obsess over until then, right?

Next up we have a refresh of RIM's high-end BlackBerry Bold 9700, the BlackBerry Bold R020.  Thanks to a leaked internal RIM document, we know that the Bold R020 will include 512 MB of RAM, up from 256 MB, a 5 megapixel camera, and, most importantly, the new BlackBerry 6 OS.  Other than those internal changes, it looks like the R020 will be identical to the 9700.  As for the name, I have a feeling RIM will change the number before launch, although it's unclear just what number the device will be given (I'd guess 9750).

Sure, some may say that the BlackBerry 9670 Oxford flip isn't the most attractive 'Berry ever, but I'm sure it will appeal to customers looking who still love the flip phone design.  Packed with an optical trackpad and QWERTY keyboard, it definitely stands out among other flip phones on the market.  When it comes to the R020, I'm not surprised to see that RIM has decided to refresh the 9700 with more memory and BB 6.  After all, it only makes sense that their high-end device is able to run their shiny new mobile OS.  So, how many of you are planning on picking up a 9670?  Are any of you 9700 owners feeling a bit burned by the news of the R020?
