Skype updated to support multitasking on iOS 4

Skype, one of the iOS apps that has always needed multitasking functionality to fully realize its potential, has just been updated.  The Skype application finally supports iOS 4 multitasking on the iPhone 4 and 3GS.  After the update, users will be able to run Skype in the background and receive a push notification of an incoming call, like the one seen above.  Now users have another reason to reduce the number of minutes in their carrier plan and rely more on VoIP services like Skype to handle their voice needs.

After the whole fring/Skype debacle, Skype has been the target of bad karma from some customers, although no one is sure who is at fault in that situation.  Regardless, Skype fans using iPhones should be doing a little dance right now, knowing that they can now receive calls without being stuck inside Skype app.  While in a Skype call, users will be able to hop out of the app and doing whatever else they'd like without hanging up, just like on a real phone call.  Now that iPhone can receive Skype calls in the background, are any of you planning on dropping some of your voice plan?
