Samsung Intercept up for pre-order, launching this weekend?

We've already seen the Samsung Intercept get a thorough hands-on overview thanks to a user who snagged the device early from a Best Buy Mobile employee.  Now the rest of us have an opportunity to get our paws on the Intercept, as Sprint has started taking pre-orders for the Android-toting handset.  Unfortunately, the pre-order is only available on Sprint's Employee Value Program as of this writing.  The Intetcept will cost $349.99 full retail but will fall all the way to $99.99 (on a two-year contract) after various discounts and mail-in rebates.  When ordering, customers can buy their Intercept in either "Gray Steel" or "Satin Pink."  Lastly, Engadget has heard that the device will be launching as soon as this weekend.

The Samsung Intercept looks like a worthy successor to the Moment and should be a great choice for anyone looking for a QWERTY-packing, mid-range Android device.  Those users looking for something a little more high-end on Sprint have the upcoming Samsung Epic 4G to look forward to, as well, so Sprint customers definitely have a variety of Android handsets to choose from.  When it comes to the Intercept launch, if it all went down this weekend it would be quite a surprise considering we haven't heard anything official on the device yet.  However, since one unit already slipped past Best Buy Mobile, a release this weekend isn't entirely out of the question.
