During Apple's announcement of the new iPhone 4 today, there were a few app makers on hand to announce new applications coming to the iPhone, as well. We've already covered Netflix, but there will also soon be iPhone ports of both Farmville and Guitar Hero. Farmville creator Zynga showed up at WWDC today and announced that they would be bringing Farmville to the iPhone with an app that will allow users to sync their existing farms with Facebook, make in-app purchases including exclusive content like a snow leopard, and send push notifications when your crops are withering. The Farmville app will be released by the end of June.
Activision was also on hand and announced that Guitar Hero would also be coming to the iPhone, bringing with it classic songs from Queen and The Rolling Stones as well as newer hits. The app is available now and costs $2.99 and comes with six songs, with other songs available for purchase from within the app itself.
Both of these apps, along with the upcoming Netflix for iPhone app, should definitely help sell iPhones considering the millions of users that access them on a daily basis. Now that both Rock Band and Guitar Hero have apps available, it'll be interesting to see who will come out on top of the rhythm game app community.
