RIM executive accused of insider trading

It seems as though the leaked BlackBerry slider isn't the only thing getting RIM in the news lately.  Paul Donald, former vice president of the Canadian smartphone manufacturer, has been accused of insider trading in which he profited nearly $300,000 from RIM's takeover of the encryption company Certicom, whose software is in use on every BlackBerry.  The Ontario Securities Commission is investigating the former RIM exec, claiming that in August 2008 Donald bought 200,000 shares of "undervalued" Certicom stock after he was informed that RIM was planning on purchasing the company.  Although Certicom resisted the deal, it eventually went through, and Donald made $295,000.  The OSC will be holding a hearing with Donald on June 7th.
