Design the DroidDog logo, win $250!

In the very near future, PhoneDog will be launching a sub-site dedicated to Android. We'll still have all of the big, Android-related industry news here at the main site, but we know the hard-core enthusiasts want a little something extra - our own site, our own YouTube channel, our own forums.

More hack/mod coverage, more app reviews, more Android rumors, and more fake phone image-dump geek porn are headed your way. And I expect plenty to be coming back from you in the form of comments, questions, content suggestions, and forum participation. I'll be taking emails, texts, and maybe facilitating a few other mechanisms that make it easy for you to get in touch.

The address is DroidDog.com, and while there's nothing but a simple graphic to greet you at the moment, folks are hard at work behind the scenes to provide the coolest Android indulgence site on the net. But we're missing one thing: we need you to design the DroidDog logo.

There are some minor restrictions. For example, the image should look good in a 200 x 110 px space and be white at the edges. We'd also like to be able to blow it up, so it should look good at higher resolutions. Whether you want to provide a vector, a high-res jpg, or something else is up to you.

You choose the colors, you choose the theme, and you choose the style. Whether you want to go flat and bold or flashy/reflecty is up to you. Just don't time-stamp your work too hard. We'll narrow down the entries and post them at PhoneDog for all of you to vote on. We'll choose the logo from the three that receive the most votes. The winner gets $250 and a notch in their online portfolio.

Send as many as you want of your own, original entries to phonedog at gmail.com, but ask your questions here in the comments for the benefit of all of our readers. Thank you, and good luck! I can't wait to fire this thing up!

EDIT: The deadline is August 10th at 11:59 PM PST!

Neither ".com" or "DroidDog" are required to appear in the logo.

Thanks to SydneyA for the following information:

"FYI - I checked out the Android website to make sure of brand guidelines and found that you can use the Android robot for any commercial use (and it can be modified) but you CANNOT use the Android word itself as it appears in the logo and you CANNOT use the font that is used in the Android logo.
