Kingston offers free phone game downloads

Hi. My name is Adriana, and I am an apps addict. (Altogether now: "Hi, Adriana.")

I am now packing more than 80 programs on my phone. I'd like to say that they are for productivity, and that it takes an army of apps to maintain this gadget girl's highly efficient lifestyle. I'd LIKE to say that, but I can't. More than half of my phone's memory is dedicated to superfluous games and entertainment.

If this sounds familiar, and you're looking to feed your addiction, you might be interested in today's announcement that Kingston Technology is giving away free phone games. While these may not be top-selling titles -- today's giveaway, for example, is "Burger Rush" (?) -- it does offer a nice, free way to kill time.

Kingston is the czar of memory manufacturing, and the brand is plugging its flash memory products in the mobile community by offering free daily game downloads off its Mobile Phone VIllage microsite. The programs come from a content provider aptly named BustedThumbs.com. Seattle-based startup Movaya is handling distribution using its proprietary TryNBuy technology, so you enter your phone number and get either a link text messaged to you or the games are sent over the air to your cell.

While BustedThumbs.com says it's working on making games available to more handsets, for now, they work primarily on selected models from the following makers: Audiovox, UTStarcom, Pantech, Kyocera, Sanyo, LG, SonyEricsson, Siemens, Nokia, Motorola, and Samsung.

But even if you don't have one of these, you may want to check Kingston's microsite anyway?it also offers a free daily song download, courtesy of eMusic.
