X1: Sample photos and videos taken with SE Xperia X1

Between all of the new releases that hit over the past two weeks, my trip down to Dallas to visit Samsung Mobile, and getting ready for the premiere of PhoneDog TV (!!!), I haven't had time to drool over the phones I'm excited to finally get a chance to play with sometime in the next few months.

Near the top of that list is the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, the Windows Mobile smartphone that's been teased and previewed all year long but hasn't yet been released in the US.  We still don't even have a release date for the phone in the states, though that should be revealed on November 4.

But information and early reviews have been spreading around the Web, and the latest is this post over on the Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog with some sample photos and videos taken with the X1.  We all get excited about megapixels and specs, but with cameras the quality of the optics and images count at least as much as pure megapixel count does.  With that borne in mind, the X1's 3.2 MP camera is lookin' pretty good so far.

As Michell writes in the post on USEB, "I was really surprised by how good the camera in X1 actually is. The
quality is rather high, and I haven't experienced either annoying or
serious white balance or colour problems. Sure, there are a few ones
with a purple tint, but this is a seldom sight that's hardly of any
annoyance to me."  A sample photo is embedded for you above ... Check the rest of 'em out for yourself on USEB.
