Walkmen: Sony Ericsson Announces Three New Walkman Phones

Sony Ericsson celebrated the third birthday of its Walkman phone line by busting out a trio of new Walkman handsets today.  The new batch is headed up by the W902 "Patti," a candybar Quad-band GSM phone with a 5MP camera, 8GB of memory on an M2 stick, UMTS/HSDPA data on the 2100 band, and a 2.2" QVGA display.  The W902 was actually a last-minute stand in for the W980 "Alicia" flip we played with back at CTIA, but I'm personally more excited about Patti's camera than Alicia's glowing colored plastic accents.

The official SE press release notes that the W980 is still on tap as, "About to launch shortly," so don't fret.

Meantime, the W595 is a new Walkman slider with a QVGA display, built-in stereo speakers and a newfangled gizmo called a "Share" jack that lets you plug two sets of headphone in to the phone at once for some Rob Lowe-style night moves (any of you see the 80's classic flick, "About Last Night"?  If so, you know what I'm talkin' about).  The W595 is a Quad-Band GSM handset with EDGE and HSDPA and will be available in four colorways.  Looks and sounds kind of like a juiced up W580 to me, which is a good thing.

Also unveiled today was the W302, a low-end candybar model featuring a 2MP shooter, 176 x 220 display, and Quad-Band GSM/EDGE support.  The W302 measures up at a slim 10.5mm from front to back and will be available in Midnight Black and Sparkling White.
