CTIA preview: Will HTC preview its "dream" Android phone?

There's been a lot of chatter but not too much in the way of hands-on action since Google's announcement of its Android platform for mobile phones.  We've heard tell of problems with the developers' process and seen a few virtualization-type demos here and there, but that's been about it.

Industry folks are buzzing a bit as of late about HTC's promise to build a high-tech handset based on the Android platform, and there's a wee bit of very faint speculation that we might get to see a preview or early prototype of the device next week at CTIA.  I'm not putting any of my own money on this one, but my fingers are crossed all the same.  According to MobileCrunch, the phone will be called Dream and will feature a large touchscreen atop a swivel-out QWERTY keyboard.  Not the first time I've heard the name Dream associated with HTC's Android phone, and it makes sense that the world's leading smartphone maker would come up with something unique for such a high-profile debut.  But when will this Dream become real?

Sorry ... I never can resist a horribly obvious pun to liven up a rumor-based blog entry.
