Oh, MOTO, say you can turn it around ... and right quick. The once mighty mobile phone maker has faced leadership changes and rumors of total dissolution over the past few months, and their showing at MWC 2008 reflects these tough times. While a teaser video on YouTube got everyone's hopes up for a flagship multimedia device from MOTO this week, so far we haven't seen one. There's still a chance they'll pull something like the ZINE Z12 out of their hat come Wednesday's media event with Symbian. But for now, the pickings are slim:
The MOTO Z6w is essentially an updated Z6 slider now packing WiFI connectivity. This new variant is a GSM handset with Windows Media Player 11, a 2MP camera with video capture, and microSD memory card support. Look for it in Q2 of this year.
MOTO also dropped two low-end additions to its W Series. The W181 and W161 are both GSM candybar phones with CrystalTalk technology for clearer-sounding calls in noisy environments. They also both pack FM radios (though you'll need to bring your own headphones to use as an antenna), and the W181 is silver and a tad thicker than the black W161.
