Could the feds be tracking you??

Last week a judge from the Southern District of New York made it possible for federal police to now obtain our location, even without evidence of wrongdoing, by using the signal from our cellular phones.  On December 20, 2005 Judge Gabriel Gorenstein ruled that federal police may now track the location of any American by contacting their cellular phone provider directly and obtain information about which towers your cellular phone used during any incoming or outgoing calls.

As you can imagine this has stirred up a  controversy about our right to privacy as Americans.

  1. Do you believe that if the feds are wanting to find out where someone is using their cellular phone, there must be a good reason, and that the information could actually protect society in the long run? or
  2. Do you feel like this is a ruling that the government is using to take away too much of our freedom and privacy?

We would love to hear your opinion about this ruling, so post a Blog Comment today.
