When porting my number to a new service provider, how long will it take?

Each carrier is different, but on average it takes around three hours for the porting to take place.  Actual time may vary and depends on the two carriers involved, so it is important to remember that this time is an estimate.  Many people are porting their phone numbers over to new carriers, so the process is much better than it was in the past!
